Spring break and so on...

Okay, so last you heard from me, I was finishing up my midterm papers. Still haven't gotten them back, so I don't know exactly how I did, but that's okay, because what's done is done, right? Also, did some cooking during midterms, but I don't have my cookbooks with me (see SB list) so I can't really transcribe the recipes... sorry. I'll catch up on that in a later post.

Anyway, so SPRING BREAK!!!
I'll try to make this quick, because it really isn't all that interesting. In fact... I'll make it a list to keep it short.
  • Got to town on Saturday and met up with lots of friends.
  • Made curry with Kirk and Will after going to Narnia (also known as H Mart, the Asian superstore) and added bok choi to the recipe, which was magnificent
  • Got some tips from the Thai woman at Best Thai at the Preston Royal shopping center on how to make my curry even better (muahaha)
  • Played poker thursday and won (I am so damn awesome!)
  • Left my three favorite cookbooks in Dallas (2 at Kirk's, 1 at Will's)
  • Played lots of beer pong
  • Probably gained about 10lbs
  • Caught up on sleep... and then immediately threw this accomplishment to the wind and haven't gotten much sleep since
  • Got my birthday presents from my parents early: Season pass to Scarborough Faire (as always) and a 1TB external hard drive so I can finally back up and get rid of my old laptops which have been just sitting around taking up room.
So I got back to San Marcos around 1:30AM monday morning and couldn't get to sleep at all due to the SB sleep cycle I got into. Fell asleep around 6AM and had to wake up for school at 10:30AM so I am once again deprived of sleep.

Oh, and I made the green bean casserole again, but I wasn't looking at the recipe and accidentally added 1 cup of milk instead of 1/4 cup of milk. Ooops... In order to ameliorate this problem, I added some mushrooms and crushed garlic so there would be more solid matter. It turned out... OK, but not amazing. Oh, and while writing this paragraph, I just realized I forgot to add pepper too... maybe that's why it turned out so plain. Oh well, better luck next time.

Well, I hope everyone is enjoying themselves and eating well. 'Til next time!
